Hours of work:37.5 hours per week (The role will require some evening and weekend work during programme delivery)

Salary:£21,000- £24,000 per annum (depending on experience)

BCFC Community Trust are a recognised delivery partner of NCS within the West Midlands and work collaboratively with the West Midlands NCS Managing Partner Reed as well as the EFL Trust to ensure that we are able to provide young people between the age of 15-17 the opportunity to engage with the NCS project.

To effectively engage with and manage relationships with schools, colleges, training/community providers and key delivery partners in order to plan, facilitate and deliver recruitment and promotional activities to maximise NCS programme participation.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • To promote NCS in Schools, College and other settings across the local area as agreed in the organisational recruitment plan
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Schools, Colleges, Local Authorities and other key stakeholders to promote the NCS opportunity
  • Identify and engage with key contacts in Schools / Colleges who are in a position to arrange NCS recruitment events
  • Liaise with School / College key contacts to ensure an academic year round suite of NCS recruitment and engagement events are agreed in 100% of allocated mainstream schools
  • Liaise with School / College key contacts to ensure school support with parent/guardian engagement
  • Arrange and deliver events which engage with parents/guardians during the recruitment period of NCS to ensure they have a full understanding of the NCS programme and the benefits of the programme to their child
  • Deliver presentations and other agreed recruitment events to all allocated secondary schools, nonmainstream Schools, Colleges, and other organisations that engage with the 15-17 age group
  • Process documentation from recruitment events timely and accurate manner
  • Engage, support and encourage young people who have expressed an interest in the NCS programme to convert from expression of interest to full sign up.
  • To achieve weekly and monthly recruitment targets as set out by the Education Manager
  • To report key information to the Education Manager following each recruitment event, including volume of EOIs generated, audience size, conversion rates and recruitment volumes at individual recruitment sites
  • Monitor volume of sign ups generate at each recruitment event and adjust recruitment plans accordingly to maximise participation in the NCS programme
  • Attend regular team and organisation meetings reporting key performance achievements/areas for improvement.
  • Embed the Programme Quality Framework into all recruitment and engagement activities.
  • Any other duties as reasonably requested by the line manager / organisation.
  • Undertake such other duties as may be reasonably required of you, commensurate with your grade.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, professional discretion, technical competence, good interpersonal and networking skills and the ability to work independently as required
  • Participate in the Community Trust Performance reviews
  • Undertake administrative tasks relevant to the role, including up to date tracking of students
  • Be fully aware of Community Trust policies relating to equality and diversity and actively promote positive practice.
  • Maintain awareness of the requirements of the Community Trust Health and Safety policy and promote positive practice in respect of health and safety rules in the workplace
  • Support promotional events and undertake occasional evening and weekend duties as required and undertake such other duties compatible with the post as may be required by the Community Trust.
  • Attend meetings as required
  • Undertake staff development activity as required

Skills & Experience


  • Sales experience within a targeted environment and proven track record as a top performer
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills with the ability to influence, persuade and listen to others effectively
  • Experience of delivering presentations to large audiences.
  • Experience and/or knowledge of secondary and higher education sector or youth engagement / local authority sector
  • Experience of co-ordinating large projects
  • Ability to relate well to young people from a wide range of backgrounds, engage them in activities which support their development and relate sensitively and confidentially to the needs of young people, parents and their families.
  • Experience of working to quantitative and qualitative targets.
  • Excellent time management, administration and problem-solving skills
  • A commitment to supporting young people and the principles of equality and diversity
  • An understanding of safeguarding and health and safety in a youth work setting.
  • Ability to work on independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills including written, telephone and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven planning and organization skills.
  • A clean driving license and access to a car (Not Applicable to London)
  • Strong administrative and IT skills, in particular Microsoft Office and Google packages.


  • Experience with the NCS programme and a sound understanding of the Programme and its objectives.
  • Experience and/or knowledge of secondary and higher education sector or youth engagement / local authority sector
  • Experience of working of data inputting and working with a CRM system.
  • Knowledge of adhering to GDPR
  • Experience of data inputting and working within a CRM system.

Terms of Appointment

  • 20 days holiday rising by 1 day per year completed up to a maximum of 25 days plus 8 bank holidays
  • 6 months’ probation period
  • 3 months’ notice period

  • Flexibility with working hours required to meet demands of the role
